Plans

Vision

To build a portable device that can be used as a hobbyist developer terminal and tinkering project, with exposed USB / audio / network / display ports a swappable control panel on the front utilising magnetic pogo connectors (keyboard / gamepad / other) and a small touchscreen display.

Speakers would be desirable in order to utilise the device as a small media client when on the move, but Bluetooth audio could also be enough for the project.

Before committing to modelling and building a case for the device, some sort of prototype made from cardboard would initially be used to determine if the form factor is actually usable for the purposes listed above.

Power Requirements

Ideally the device could be used under reasonable load for 4 hours, and hold a charge for ~1 week when powered off.

Initially the Pi and other peripherals will be purchased without the battery and management system in order to work out how much power the device will draw under normal use before committing to a specific form factor for the power delivery system.
